Qualifications

• A degree in Town Planning, Rural Planning or related discipline.
• MRTPI membership or working towards chartered status.
• Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and rural planning system.
• Experience managing planning applications and advising clients independently.
• Understanding of agricultural development and rural diversification.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of rural planning applications from initial advice to determination.
• Advise landowners, farmers and rural businesses on planning opportunities.
• Prepare and submit planning applications, statements and supporting docs.
• Work on agricultural buildings, rural diversification, residential development and change-of-use projects.
• Undertake site appraisals and assess development opportunities.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants and stakeholders.
• Support clients through the planning process, including negotiations and appeals.
