Job summary

Staff Match in Enfield is seeking an experienced Senior Room Leader to join a nursery team. You will lead a room, support staff, and ensure safe, development‑focused care for children in line with the EYFS framework.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, strong communication and organisational skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and health & safety policies. 40 hours per week with potential career progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 Childcare qualification is required.
• Experience of working in a childcare setting and supporting children's development is essential.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable.
• Paediatric First Aid is desirable.

Responsibilities

• To work closely with the nursery manager and ensure the nursery is a safe, secure environment for children to learn and grow.
• To manage staff supervisions and performance appraisals, identifying training needs.
• Supporting and directing staff in the room and ensuring adult/child ratios are met.
• Observing children and managing their learning and development records.
• To work with EYFS Curriculum and planning exciting age appropriate activities both indoors and outdoors.
• Working as a keyworker reviewing, maintaining and updating records for each child.
• To build positive relationships with parents and carers.
• Working to nursery policy and procedures in relation to Safeguarding, Health & Safety.
• Attending parent's evenings and open days, sports days, etc.
• Attending staff meetings and training as required.
• To maintain confidentiality.
• Working 40 Hours per week
