Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Colorectal/General Surgery to work with the Colorectal Clinical Lead. The role focuses on fast-tracking diagnosis, initiating investigations and creating initial management plans for acute surgical patients, and triaging referrals in the Surgical Hot Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Continuing responsibility for the clinical care of patients in charge and for the proper functioning of the department.
• Deliver a high quality responsive surgical service to patients who use it.
• Provide emergency support to patients as appropriate.
• Undertake administrative duties associated with the care of patients and running of a clinical department.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current surgical practice.
• Maintain professional development with available training opportunities and ensure compliance with mandatory training.
• Responsible for the surgical patient flow in ED.
