Job summary

Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is inviting applications for a Senior Clinical Fellow in General Surgery. The post covers general, breast, colorectal and emergency surgery with a one-year fixed term that may be extended for suitable candidates.

The fellow will participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics and operating theatres, with opportunities to teach medical students and to contribute to service improvement projects across the division.

Qualifications

• MRCS and GMC Registration are required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good team player with ability to teach medical students.
• Experience in general, breast, colorectal and emergency surgery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ward rounds and outpatient clinics.
• Assist in theatres across general and surgical specialties.
• Teach medical students and junior colleagues.
• Contribute to General Surgery and emergency theatre activity.
• Support triage and initial management of acute surgical presentations.
