Job summary

The Meriden Hospital in Coventry is recruiting a Senior Registered Nurse for the Pre-Assessment department on a bank, as-and-when-required basis. You will lead on assessment, planning, and evaluation of care for complex patients within Circle Health Group guidelines.

Responsibilities include administering medications, coordinating with the MDT, and maintaining safety and infection prevention standards while supporting patient-centred care during transitions between services.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration.
• Significant post-registration experience in acute or relevant clinical setting.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care and lead on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for complex patients.
• Use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely and appropriate decisions, escalating where necessary.
• Administer medication safely and monitor patient response, ensuring adherence to NMC and local protocols.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, ensuring safe and effective workload management across the shift.
• Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with infection prevention, safeguarding, medicines management, and risk reporting procedures.
• Act as a key contact for patients and their families, offering clinical updates and information to support shared decision-making.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure smooth transitions between services.
