Cititec partners with a global commodities trading company in London seeking a Principal Risk Engineer for a 12-month contract. Hybrid location in London with strong leadership responsibilities across CTRM and risk platforms.

You will guide delivery, onboarding of CTRMs, and lead a small tech team while collaborating with trading, risk and technology stakeholders to enable scalable, real-time risk capabilities.

Qualificações

• Significant experience within commodities trading, financial markets, CTRM or risk technology.
• Strong understanding of trading workflows, trade lifecycle and market risk.
• Proven experience implementing, integrating or onboarding complex CTRM or risk platforms.
• Strong technical background with experience across Python, APIs, databases, data platforms and distributed systems.
• Experience leading, mentoring or managing technical teams.
• Ability to operate between detailed technical discussions and senior stakeholder engagement.
• Strong understanding of scalable, high-performance technology environments.
• Experience working closely with trading, risk and technology teams.
• Exposure to real-time risk, cloud-native architecture or high-performance data processing would be beneficial.
• Experience with technologies such as Python, C++, ClickHouse or Iceberg would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, pragmatic approach.

Responsabilidades

• Own the delivery and evolution of CTRM and risk technology capabilities.
• Lead onboarding, integration and implementation of new CTRMs and related platforms.
• Provide senior technical leadership across risk technology initiatives.
• Lead and develop a small team of technology professionals.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical and operational issues.
• Collaborate with trading, risk, technology and business stakeholders.
• Drive improvements across platform scalability, automation, reliability and performance.
• Contribute to real-time risk and next-generation risk technology evolution.
• Help define the technology roadmap bridging existing CTRM capabilities with future platforms.
• Work with engineers and architects across Python, C++, data and cloud technologies.
