Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Sr Manager of Software Engineer for the Electronic Trading Real-Time Position and Risk team in London. You will lead hands-on development of a real-time risk stack across architecture, delivery, quality, and operational excellence.

You will build resilient, latency-sensitive systems that update position and risk in line with trade lifecycle events. You will translate desk needs into scalable designs with clear contracts, auditability, and strong controls.

Qualifications

• Strong Core Java development skills with OO and API design.
• Experience building low-latency, event-driven systems with proper data contracts.
• Deep knowledge of multithreading, performance tuning, memory management.
• Proven ability to lead through influence and mentoring in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead real-time position and risk platform design, performance, and resilience.
• Deliver real-time position keeping across trade lifecycle events.
• Build real-time risk capabilities, including data ingestion and P&L explain.
• Enforce non-functional requirements: latency budgets, determinism, fault tolerance, recovery.
• Mentor engineers, support hiring and team development.
