Job summary

UNCOVER in London is seeking a Senior Risk Lawyer to join our Risk & Compliance function. The role provides legal and risk-focused support across a broad remit for the firm.

The successful candidate will have post-qualification experience in an international or leading law firm, with strong skills in risk, compliance, commercial contracts and regulatory matters, including advising on supplier and client-facing agreements, data protection, and policy development.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and risk advice across a broad range of matters affecting the firm.
• Review, draft and negotiate supplier, technology and other commercial agreements.
• Advise on client terms, engagement documentation and related contractual matters.
• Provide guidance on data protection and privacy issues with internal stakeholders.
• Support interpretation and application of legal, regulatory and professional obligations.
• Advise on risk and compliance matters and escalate complex issues when needed.
• Contribute to development and implementation of internal policies and risk controls.
• Provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice to partners, lawyers and business services teams.
• Keep abreast of regulatory developments and assess impact on the firm.
• Contribute to broader Risk & Compliance projects and initiatives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Risk Lawyer to join the Risk & Compliance function of a leading international law firm in London.

This is a broad and varied role, providing legal and risk-focused support across a wide range of matters affecting the firm.

The role would suit a lawyer who enjoys working across a varied remit and is looking to move into, or further develop their career within, a sophisticated law firm Risk & Compliance environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Risk Lawyer role:

• Providing legal and risk advice across a broad range of matters affecting the firm.
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating supplier, technology and other commercial agreements.
• Advising on client terms, engagement documentation and related contractual matters.
• Providing guidance on data protection and privacy issues, working closely with relevant internal stakeholders.
• Supporting the firm with the interpretation and application of relevant legal, regulatory and professional obligations.
• Advising on a range of risk and compliance matters, escalating more complex or material issues where appropriate.
• Supporting the development, review and implementation of internal policies, procedures and risk controls.
• Providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice to partners, lawyers and business services teams.
• Keeping abreast of relevant legal and regulatory developments and assessing their potential impact on the firm.
• Contributing to wider Risk & Compliance projects and initiatives as required.

About You

• A qualified lawyer with relevant post-qualification experience, ideally gained within an international or leading law firm environment.
• Strong experience across risk, compliance, commercial contracts and regulatory matters.
• Comfortable reviewing and negotiating a range of agreements, including supplier and client-facing contracts.
• Able to assess complex issues, identify potential risks and provide clear, practical and commercially minded advice.
