Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking a Principal Advisor, Risk Intelligence and Analytics to turn complex data into forward-looking insights for the Enterprise Risk team. You will apply analytics, AI and machine learning to identify evolving risks, support risk monitoring, scenario planning and Board reporting.

You will lead the development of dashboards, indicators and tools, collaborating with Finance, IT, Product Groups and other SMEs to deliver practical solutions and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Committed to safety of yourself and team.
• Strong quantitative and data analytics capability with patterns, trends and anomalies.
• Experience applying AI, ML or advanced analytics to business problems.
• Ability to communicate complex findings with dashboards and visuals.
• Hands-on capability with Python, SQL, R, Excel or equivalents, integrating multiple data sources.
• Qualification in a quantitative or analytical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Shape enterprise risk decisions by turning data into insights for senior leaders and Board.
• Develop risk indicators, dashboards and decision tools using analytics, AI and ML.
• Work with Enterprise Risk and major business functions.
• Deliver AI/ML-enabled risk analysis and practical business solutions.
• Identify trends, anomalies, emerging risks and concentrations across risk portfolio.
• Assess risk exposure with quantitative methods and support risk appetite monitoring.
• Create leading/lagging indicators and clear visuals for leadership and Board reporting.
• Automate data gathering, analysis and reporting for accuracy and timeliness.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data with quality controls and documentation.
