Job summary

Capstone Investment Advisors seeks a Senior Risk Engineer (SVP) to join Risk Technology, designing and owning production-grade risk and decision-support components across cross-asset analytics. You will stay close to code, data and users from problem framing through to production, driving scalable risk tooling and portfolio insight.

You will collaborate with Risk Managers, Portfolio Managers, Quant Research and technology teams to turn research into actionable investment insights, leveraging

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, quantitative development or risk technology within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank or comparable capital-markets environment.
• Strong track record of designing, building and supporting production-grade risk, pricing or trading systems, owning complex projects from definition through delivery.
• Advanced Python / Java and SQL skills, plus API experience, distributed or event-driven architectures, databases and large-scale data processing.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build and own production-grade components of Capstone’s Risk Technology platform with performance, scalability and reliability in mind.
• Develop cross-asset risk capabilities including Greeks, stress scenarios, VaR, P&L vectors and exposure aggregation.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Risk Managers and Quant Research to solve complex derivatives, risk and portfolio challenges from problem definition to production.
• Build APIs, data pipelines and interactive decision tools for trade-level and fund-level insights.
• Translate pricing and risk methodologies into scalable services with clear model-based explanations and controls.
• Advance Risk Intelligence by turning research and analytics into practical investment insights using AI/ML where appropriate.
• Engineer and operate resilient risk services with data lineage and end-to-end production issue ownership.
• Contribute to Roadmap delivery with Engineering, Data and AI teams, following common platforms and standards.
