Job Role:
As a Senior Risk Business Analyst at CFP, you will collaborate with business and technology teams to analyze and implement process and system changes necessary to support the company's risk management capabilities and strategic vision.
The jobholder:
As an experienced IT Business Analyst in the Energy Trading Risk domain, you will contribute to a major global transformation initiative. Working both independently and as part of a team, you will engage with stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to drive change and improve efficiency. Your responsibilities include eliciting and documenting requirements, proposing solutions, and liaising with engineering teams to deliver changes.
Essential functions of the job:
Business Analysis & Delivery
- Lead requirement gathering and documentation for enhancements, projects, and defects.
- Plan and deliver business analysis outputs.
- Assess risks, feasibility, and business impacts of solutions.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, managing expectations.
- Communicate transparently throughout change processes.
- Maintain relationships with external IT teams and internal colleagues.
Innovation & Improvement
- Work with the Product Owner to generate innovative solutions.
- Standardize processes for requirements elicitation, design, and validation.
- Align solutions with strategic goals.
Technical Skills & Coordination
- Translate business needs into technical designs.
- Prioritize features within the delivery backlog.
- Ensure solutions meet requirements before release.
Change Management
- Participate in backlog grooming and sprint planning.
- Coordinate changes across teams, managing priorities.
- Align IT projects with business architecture.
- Secure business sign-off for solutions.
Skills and experience required:
- Experience modeling energy derivatives, OTC and exchange-traded, including delta 1 derivatives, vanilla, and exotic options.
- Knowledge of financial risk metrics and calculations.
- Experience in commodities/financial markets and trading processes.
- Data analysis and modeling skills.
- Experience with ETRM applications and risk modeling software.
- Exposure to trade lifecycle, valuation, and risk management.
- Experience managing complex change projects.
- Experience with waterfall and agile SDLC methodologies.
