Qualifications

• Background in physical energy trading or commodities risk.
• Experience in P&L / Position Control or deals desk / middle office is valuable.
• Understanding how physical contracts translate into exposures and hedging strategies.

Responsibilities

• Ownership and oversight of physical commodity positions and exposures
• Production, validation and explanation of daily mark-to-market P&L
• Understanding how contractual terms translate into physical and financial exposures
• Reviewing market data, curves and valuation inputs
• Investigating P&L movements, discrepancies and reporting breaks
• Understanding the interaction between physical transactions and hedging
• Working with Finance around reconciliation and month-end processes
• Challenging existing methodologies and improving controls and reporting
• Supporting development of systems and processes
• Acting as a senior technical reference point and mentoring juniors
