Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Risk Officer to join a leading global hedge fund’s Energy Risk team in London. You will provide day-to-day risk oversight across European Power and Gas trading, working closely with traders and portfolio managers to monitor risk across physical and financial positions.

The role focuses on developing stress-testing, scenario analysis, and robust risk analytics frameworks, while enhancing reporting, limit monitoring, and portfolio analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience in Market Risk, Trading Risk, Commodity Risk or Trading.
• Strong understanding of European Power markets and physical energy trading.
• Exposure to Gas markets is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate complex risks clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

Working closely with traders and portfolio managers, you'll be responsible for monitoring risk across physical and financial positions, developing stress-testing and scenario analysis, challenging exposures, and helping enhance risk analytics and reporting frameworks.

• Python and/or SQL skills preferred
