Job summary

Rowden Bristol seeks a Principal RF Hardware Engineer to design and deliver analogue and mixed-signal hardware for advanced wireless sensing and communications platforms. You will contribute across the full RF chain, from antenna interfaces to ADC/DAC integration and SDR bring-up, in a hands-on role with RF, FPGA and software engineers.

This position features a hybrid working model with on-site Bristol HQ engagement three days per week and occasional travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Designing RF and analogue hardware for wireless/radio systems.
• Experience with RF signal chains including amplification, filtering, mixing and gain control.
• Understanding full RF chain from antenna to ADC/DAC integration and digital processing.
• High-speed ADC/DAC integration in RF systems.
• Multi-layer RF/mixed-signal PCB design and layout.

Responsibilities

• Design RF front-end architectures including amplification, filtering and frequency conversion.
• Own RF/mixed-signal hardware from concept to PCB implementation and bring-up.
• Integrate high-speed ADCs/DACs and clocking architectures.
• Develop multi-layer RF PCBs with RF performance and signal integrity.
• Select and integrate RF components (amplifiers, mixers, filters, oscillators).
• Bring up new RF hardware platforms and validate performance with lab equipment.
• Debug RF signal chains across analogue, mixed-signal and digital domains.
• Support integration with FPGA-based SDR platforms and embedded systems.
• Collaborate with RF, FPGA, embedded software and systems engineers.
• Produce design documentation and reviews.
