Job summary

Service Service in Norwich is seeking a Principal RF Hardware Engineer to lead the design and validation of high-performance RF hardware. The role involves architecture ownership, cross-functional collaboration and ensuring manufacturability from concept to production.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical/Electronic/Microwave Engineering, 10+ years of hands-on RF/mixed-signal experience, and a proven track record of bringing RF products to production.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, RF or Microwave Engineering.
• 10+ years of hands-on precision RF/mixed-signal hardware experience.
• Proven track record of taking RF products into production.
• Strong knowledge of low phase noise, signal generation, frequency conversion and signal integrity.
• Experience with RF simulation and test equipment.
• Good understanding of metrology and measurement traceability.
• Strong technical leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design of precision RF and mixed-signal hardware.
• Design across DC to 27GHz, with 50GHz+ experience desirable.
• Perform RF simulation, modelling and analysis using ADS, AWR, HFSS or CST.
• Use VNAs, spectrum/phase-noise analysers, signal generators, power meters and TDRs.
• Lead design reviews, verification, risk management and component obsolescence.
• Work closely with manufacturing and test teams on design-for-manufacture and yield.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring across the engineering team.
• Contribute to future RF technology and product development.
