Senior Radio Engineer

The Company

Being the UK's leading independent communications supplier, specialising in the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of wireless voice and data networks. Our client has the largest dedicated radio engineering team in the UK. Each staff member is trained by leading manufacturers and equipped with the latest DMR and Tetra test sets to ensure high-quality repairs. They are seeking a Field Radio Engineer to join their expanding team.

The Role

You will work within the engineering team, providing bespoke technical solutions for customers and SMEs on all Radio Engineering aspects.

Role Includes

• Designing and building technical solutions aligned with customer needs.
• Providing technical assurance to customers.
• Preparing CODEPLUGS/FLEET Plans for customer requirements (Motorola & Hytera).
• Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecommunication equipment from various vendors such as Hytera, Motorola, Tait, Simoco, Kenwood, and Icom.
• Site maintenance and servicing.
• Fault management including log analysis, debugging, and workarounds.
• Supporting business needs through customer analysis and product presentations.
• Providing technical support for communication systems in major contracts.

Skills and Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in military or commercial radio communication.
• RF propagation experience.
• Strong IT skills, including database management, networking, TCP/IP, and DMR/PMR software applications.
• Current or previous security clearance (SC) with ability to refresh.
• Experience in fault finding across telecommunication platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• RF fault diagnostics skills.
• Technical skills in designing bespoke solutions.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of PMR programming software (Tait, Simoco, Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Hytera).
• Experience with Trunk Radio (MPT1327) database management.
• Ability to repair COTS radios down to component level.
