An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation team for a dynamic Band 6 Respiratory Practitioner. The role involves assessing and treating patients with chronic respiratory conditions, supporting senior staff, and developing specialized respiratory skills in a community setting. This position offers flexibility in hours, professional development, and engagement with various healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Pulmonary Rehabilitation team for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 6 Respiratory Practitioner (Nursing or Physiotherapy background) within East Kent. The wider team provides Pulmonary Rehabilitation services across East Kent and DGS (Dartford, Gravesham, and Swanley) localities. The successful candidate would work alongside a Band 7 Physiotherapist and therapy assistant practitioners, supported by an admin team, to deliver a high-quality service.
This is a skilled post requiring clinical knowledge and skills to assess and treat patients with chronic respiratory conditions in a community setting. The role offers opportunities to further develop specialised respiratory skills whilst working independently. Your contribution helps patients improve their functional ability, breathlessness management, and overall quality of life. Many patients report positive feedback, such as:

It is essential that you are HCPC registered with proven experience and knowledge in a respiratory specialised field.
You will play a key role in engagement with integrated accountable care organisations. The service collaborates with various healthcare providers in Kent and continues to develop the respiratory pathway and service to serve the local population.
The service offers regular in-service training, clinical supervision, protected CPD time, and input into local clinical interest groups. The trust encourages staff development and provides training opportunities internally and externally, identified during annual appraisals. The trust has achieved Foundation Trust status and is rated 'Outstanding' by CQC.
A full, valid UK driving licence and the ability to travel independently are essential.
Hours are flexible from a minimum of 22.5 up to 37.5 hours per week. There are 2 WTE vacancies, and the service offers flexibility in working hours and location.
