Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is seeking an experienced Respiratory Physiologist to join the Lung Function team to cover maternity leave. Based at Wythenshawe Hospital, you will work across MFT sites and community diagnostics, performing advanced lung function tests and contributing to teaching and service improvement.

Key duties include maintaining test quality, managing staff development, and deputising for the Head of Department while ensuring high standards of patient care

Qualifications

• Experience in a large physiology service.
• Ability to manage staff and develop staff.
• Expertise in a broad range of lung function tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of advanced lung function tests.
• Ensure technical accuracy and quality of test procedures.
• Lead and support staff development and appraisals.
• Deputise for Head of Department when required.
• Support cost-effective lung function service across sites.
• Educate and supervise junior staff.
• Contribute to teaching for students.
• Drive service improvements and quality of care.
