Job summary

Additional Resources is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker for a full-time position in Oxfordshire. The role focuses on leading shifts, mentoring staff, and delivering safe, nurturing care to young people in a residential setting.

The candidate will have around two years of residential childcare experience, hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, and demonstrate strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Approx 2 years' experience in residential childcare.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
• Good understanding of safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries.
• Ability to lead, motivate and guide colleagues while maintaining accountability for their practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS check

Responsibilities

• Guiding, mentoring and supporting colleagues in their roles.
• Ensuring staff follow care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
• Providing trauma-informed care and supporting young people's daily needs and independence.
• Contributing to key-work sessions, care planning and progress reviews.
• Managing safeguarding concerns, incidents, debriefs and appropriate escalations.
• Maintaining accurate records, completing handovers and overseeing household and health and safety duties.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a SeniorResidential Support Worker to join a children's residential care provider, offering safe, nurturing and supportive homes for young people.

With approx. 2 years' experience in residential childcare, you will bring the knowledge and confidence needed to take on a senior role within a children's residential setting.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will lead shifts, mentor colleagues and oversee the delivery of safe, nurturing care that supports young people's needs and development.

This full-time role based in Oxfordshire offers salary of£34,840 and benefits.

You will be responsible for:

What we are looking for:

Desirable:

• Previous experience supervising shifts or leading a team.
• Understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
• Experience of trauma-informed care and involvement in care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
• Full UK driving licence.
