Job summary

Aspris are recruiting a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our children’s home near Mildenhall. You will lead shifts, support and mentor colleagues, and help ensure the highest standards of care for young people aged 8-18 with complex needs.

You will support the young people to build confidence, develop independence, and participate in education and community activities, while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. A full UK driving licence is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Experience in residential care or similar setting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail for incident reporting and record-keeping.

Our children’s home is situated between Mildenhall and Lakenheath, in the Forest Heath District which boarders onto Cambridshire and Norfolk. It’s a 5-bedded home for males and females aged 8 - 18 with emotional, behavioural difficulties and other complex needs associated. The home seeks to provide a safe and understanding ethos in which the young person can be assisted to address their behaviours and to take responsibility for their own actions. The emphasis of the work is by way of intervention and to challenge the inappropriate behaviour through a holistic therapeutic approach.

Our home has a small holding where we keep farm animals which provides environment enrichment for our young people. Our staff and young people help to look after these.

Due to the nature of this role, a full UK driving licence is required.

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will lead shifts, support and mentor colleagues, and help ensure the highest standards of care are delivered at all times.

You will support our young people to build confidence, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes, whether that's learning essential life skills, engaging in hobbies and activities, maintaining education attendance, or enjoying new experiences within their local community. No two days are the same, from supporting with daily routines and fun activities, to managing challenging situations and celebrating achievements.
