Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Residential Worker who is determined, caring and resilient, and who is ready for clear pathways into management. If you meet these criteria, a Senior Residential Support Worker role with Compass could be perfect for you.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is 22 years of age or older, in compliance with Ofsted regulations.
• Has a NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People Workforce.
• Has at least two years of experience within residential childcare working alongside young people.
• Has a valid manual driving licence.

What will I do as a Senior Residential Support Worker?

Compass Homes are built around accepting a child as they are in a non‑judgemental way. You will teach them to build self‑esteem and accept themselves, helping them on their journey into adulthood.

• Using life skills, you will create positive relationships, meet children’s needs, and safeguard them at all times.
• You will engage with a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
• In this leadership role you will be responsible for staff supervision, leading shifts, policies, procedures, risk assessments, rotas and ensuring placement plans are followed and education is supported.
• You will ensure the welfare and care of each child and give guidance and support to all residential workers.
