Job summary

Bay View in Heysham, Morecambe, is seeking a dynamic Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our family-style home. You will support up to four young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in a safe, nurturing environment.

We offer a full-time contract (40 hours/week) with potential sleep-in shifts and competitive salary. The role requires Level 3 Diploma or Level 4 Apprenticeship within two years, an UK driving licence, and ongoing CPD.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma or Level 4 Apprenticeship required within two years.
• Registration with safeguarding and care standards expected.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care and support to children and young people in the home.
• Lead care planning, key work sessions and risk assessments to secure best outcomes.
• Provide leadership and guidance to support best practice in childcare.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and company policies.
• Promote Bay View's values and contribute to care standards improvement.
• Support regulatory requirements including Regulation 44 visits.

Salary: £27,750.53 with the potential to earn up to £34,470.53 with sleep-in shifts

We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our established residential team at Bay View. Based in one of our family-style children's homes in Heysham, Morecambe, you'll support up to four young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them thrive in a safe, secure and nurturing environment.

Our homes are rated Outstanding or Good by Ofsted, and you'll play a key role in maintaining these high standards.

Main Purpose of the Role

• Deliver high-quality care and support to children and young people within the home
• Help achieve the best outcomes for each child through effective care planning, key work sessions and risk assessments
• Provide leadership and guidance to support best practice in childcare
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and company policies
• Promote Bay View's values and contribute to the continuous improvement of care standards
• Support regulatory requirements, including Regulation 44 visits
• If you do not already hold the required qualification, you will be expected to undertake and complete a relevant Level 3 Diploma in Working with Children and Young People or Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship within two years
• Knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and accompanying guidance and regulations, the Care Standards Act 2000 and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
• A full UK driving licence
• Competitive salary plus up to £6,720 in sleep-in payments, typically based on 6-8 sleep-ins per month at £70 per sleep-in
