Job summary

Steps Ahead Semi Independent Living Ltd. is seeking a Registered Manager to lead a residential service for children with complex needs. You will oversee daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and create a safe, nurturing environment while developing care plans and guiding staff.

The role requires a minimum 2 years in management within residential care, Level 5 leadership qualification, and a strong Ofsted track record. A full driver’s license and commitment to safeguarding are essential.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role within residential care for children.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England).
NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent.
A “Good” or “Outstanding” Ofsted rating for your recent inspections is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the children’s home, ensuring a well-organised, efficient, and safe environment.
Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards, national care standards, and local authority requirements.
Develop and regularly review individual care plans to address emotional, behavioural, and learning needs.
Lead, mentor, and develop care staff to deliver high-quality care.
Lead safeguarding efforts and ensure staff are trained in child protection procedures.
Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and external agencies.
Regularly monitor and improve the quality of care to achieve the best outcomes.
