Job summary

Steps Ahead Semi Independent Living Ltd. is seeking a Registered Manager to lead a residential service for children with complex needs. You will oversee daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and create a safe, nurturing environment while developing care plans and guiding staff.

The role requires a minimum 2 years in management within residential care, Level 5 leadership qualification, and a strong Ofsted track record. A full driver’s license and commitment to safeguarding are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role within residential care for children.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England).
• NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent.
• A “Good” or “Outstanding” Ofsted rating for your recent inspections is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the children’s home, ensuring a well-organised, efficient, and safe environment.
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards, national care standards, and local authority requirements.
• Develop and regularly review individual care plans to address emotional, behavioural, and learning needs.
• Lead, mentor, and develop care staff to deliver high-quality care.
• Lead safeguarding efforts and ensure staff are trained in child protection procedures.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and external agencies.
• Regularly monitor and improve the quality of care to achieve the best outcomes.
