Job summary

Senior Childcare Worker (Secondment) is a permanent role with Hertfordshire County Council, based at Cherry Tree Cottage. You will lead a care team and provide trauma‑informed support to Young People at risk, working with CAMHS and Social Care to deliver high-quality services.

You will supervise staff, contribute to care planning and risk management, and help maintain a safe, nurturing environment. A Level 3 Diploma and full driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9-12 month experience of working in residential children’s home.
• Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
• Hold a full driving licence and business insurance.
• Lead and manage shifts.
• Willingness to undertake shift work.
• Staff supervision
• Attending/ leading meetings with key stakeholder
• Working with families

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and support to the care team.
• Conduct staff supervisions and support professional development.
• Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency meetings.
• Work collaboratively with CAMHS, Social Care, families and other professionals.
• Support the management team with service delivery, quality assurance and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Promote positive outcomes for young people through relationship-based and therapeutic practice.
