Job summary

Options Autism in Dumfriesshire is seeking a Senior Residential Care Worker to lead, support and deliver high-quality care for young people with autism and complex needs at Closeburn House. You’ll combine hands-on support with leadership responsibilities, guiding colleagues and ensuring consistent, nurturing care in a safe environment.

You will have a minimum of two years’ supervisory experience, a driving licence, and relevant social care qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience.
• HNC in Social Care or SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF 7 or equivalent.
• Willingness to work towards an SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF 9 (Level 4).

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with daily routines and personal development.
• Administer medication safely following procedures.
• Lead, support and mentor Residential Care Workers to maintain high care standards.
• Support young people to attend appointments, activities and community-based opportunities.
• Complete accurate care records and essential documentation.
• Promote independence, confidence and essential life skills.
• Maintain safeguarding, wellbeing and person-centred care.
• Support the Deputy Manager with day-to-day leadership of the wider team.
