Job summary

Bradford Council is seeking an experienced Senior Drainage Officer / Assistant Engineer (Reservoirs) to join the Land Drainage and Flood Risk Management Team. The role involves supporting reservoir maintenance, inspections and watercourse management to protect communities from flooding and enable sustainable development across the district.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Land Drainage Act 1991, Reservoirs Act 1975, Flood and Water Management Act 2010.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with reservoir inspections and drainage infrastructure is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support Reservoir Owner and Lead Local Flood Authority duties.
• Undertake inspections of reservoirs, watercourses and drainage assets.
• Assist in maintenance programmes and contractor management.
• Support design of SuDS and flood risk schemes.
• Collaborate with partners and communities to respond to drainage incidents.
