This role is Maternity Leave cover and will suit an experienced research nurse who has worked in a clinical research environment on a broad range of clinical research projects.
The post holder will work for the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Oxford Clinical Research Facility (CRF). The facility has a growing portfolio of studies that cover all specialities. The NIHR Oxford CRF is governed by a collaboration between the University of Oxford and OUH NHS Trust. The facility is part of a network of facilities funded by the National Institute of Health Research.
The post holder will work mainly in the Experimental Medicine Clinical Research Facility (EMCRF) based on the Churchill site, but the role may involve working with other teams in other CRF locations within the Trust.
The role will p rovide excellent professional and clinical leadership in the field of experimental clinical research promoting the effective delivery of a high standard of nursing care for all research participants and contributing to the development of the service, practice and individuals .
Managerial responsibilities include managing a core CRF clinical team and being instrumental in delivering recruitment targets, implementing team objectives to enhance the performance and development of the team members. The post holder will be expected to have specialist skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical trials, therapies, disease and management.
As a Senior Research Nurse you will be expected to lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering the clinical research portfolio. The role requires a level of research experience as well as leadership experience. The role will involve daily management of the activities within the facility, as well as supporting the Operational Lead with the wider portfolio management and working to meet strategic objectives. The role is mainly ward/clinical based but there will be some requirement for related administrative work.
Ensuring research projects are completed successfully and within specified timelines will be critical and the role provides a unique opportunity to communicate and assist with the project management of the team’s studies.
It is essential that you are organised and able to plan work to a high standard with excellent attention to detail. You will also be an important member of the research team and as such will be involved with other on-going/new studies.
