The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers two advanced Hepatology Fellowships aimed at furthering training in hepatology. Successful applicants will engage in various clinical activities, gaining expertise in managing liver diseases and participating in clinical trials and academic sessions.
Two advanced Hepatology full-time, fully-funded Fellowships are available at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. These positions are designed to complement the existing hepatology and gastroenterology services and offer advanced training in hepatology. The roles involve 12 months as an advanced Hepatology Fellow, including 2-3 hepatology clinics per week, benign hepatology MDT, liver histology, IgG4 MDT, and review of inpatient referrals. The fellowships are structured to develop broad subspecialist hepatology knowledge and management skills, with each fellowship typically spending 6 months in each role, gaining expertise in viral, immune-mediated, and metabolic liver diseases, including in advanced liver disease pre- and post-transplant. The program comprises 6 clinical and 4 academic sessions per week, with academic sessions dedicated to clinical trials, personal projects, teaching, and administration. One endoscopy session is flexible and may require working on a Saturday. The John Radcliffe Hospital provides integrated services with Horton General Hospital.
The successful applicant will contribute to the Hepatology and Gastroenterology out-of-hours rota, and participate in weekday emergency endoscopy and ward referral weeks, including colonoscopy (>200 procedures).
