We are looking for a
Senior Research Grants Officer to join the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN). As part of the Department’s busy research grants team, you will support researchers with their applications to external organizations for research funding and with the setup and management of successful awards.
You will provide a high-quality service by reviewing the criteria for applications, assisting with costing and pricing for applications using X5, the University’s costing and pricing software, and advising on non-scientific matters to ensure compliance with University and funder requirements on submission.
You will support Principal Investigators in managing awarded projects. You will collaborate with colleagues in the professional support team, NDCN researchers, and contacts across and outside the University to monitor the progress of NDCN’s research projects, which currently amount to over £100M.
You will use reports from Oracle and X5, along with discussions with researchers and administrative colleagues, to gather and assess project information, ensuring effective and compliant project management. You will serve as a primary contact for queries from Principal Investigators and research staff, attending meetings to communicate key information, answer questions, and escalate issues as needed.
Training will be provided to support your development and success in the role. It is essential that you are educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant work experience. A degree in a relevant scientific area and experience in academic or general administration within Higher Education or a related environment are desirable.
This position offers potential for hybrid working. The role is full-time and permanent, with a Grade 6 classification, though less experienced candidates may be appointed at Grade 5 with appropriate adjustments.
