University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Research Governance Manager to join the Research & Innovation team. This is a key operational leadership role responsible for the effective management of research study set-up and Capacity and Capability activity across the Trust.

You will oversee workload and prioritisation, provide operational leadership to the team, monitor performance against targets, and translate regulatory changes into practice while driving service

Qualificações

• Knowledge of own area of expertise via degree or equivalent experience and training; further management knowledge to postgraduate diploma level.
• Understanding of range of work practices with non-routine tasks and knowledge of R&D processes.
• Evidence of continuous professional development.
• Current, valid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training.
• Knowledge of Health Research Authority (HRA), MHRA and IRAS.
• In-depth understanding of clinical research and trial management including regulatory requirements.
• Significant demonstrable experience in clinical trials and research governance.
• Experience of further academic/personal development.

Responsabilidades

• Lead operational management of research study set-up and Capacity and Capability activity across UHB.
• Directly manage staff within the Research Governance Team, oversee workload and prioritisation, monitor performance and reporting.
• Make and support complex governance decisions, resolve escalated set-up issues, and lead service improvement.
• Contribute to development of policies, systems and processes; oversee cost recovery and collaboration with sponsors.
• Translate regulatory changes into practice and provide assurance to senior R&I colleagues.
