Job Description:

Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford), 42-43 Park End Street, Oxford, OX1 1JD. The Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science (LCDS), Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) is recruiting a Senior Research Fellow in Demographic Science. The post would be held in conjunction with an Official Fellowship at Reuben College.

The post holder will establish and develop their own research team and play a leading role in generating world class scientific research and the management and strategic direction of the LCDS. You will be responsible for publishing research articles, communicating results at national and international conferences, writing funding applications, building and supervising your own team, obtaining competitive funding and developing and collaborating on projects. You will also play a key role in the Governance of Reuben College, supporting its graduate students and generally engaging proactively in the College’s diverse interdisciplinary activities.

To be considered, you will hold a PhD/DPhil or equivalent with significant postdoctoral research experience and a strong background in demography, population health, epidemiology or a related discipline. You will be a recognised international authority within your research area, evidenced by your publication record and will have experience managing projects and staff and the ability to lead a team and attract research funding. This is a full time (part time considered), fixed term post for 5 years, with evaluation for an open-ended Departmental contract at year 4 and 5 year renewal period for the College Fellowship.
