Job summary

Flow Traders in London seeks a Senior Research Engineer to drive the development and rollout of a global ML research framework. You will build data-driven models for production trading and partner with Quantitative Researchers to test hypotheses and refine trading signals.

The role requires an advanced degree and 8+ years in MLOps or ML research, with expertise in Python, ML pipelines, and cloud/container tech. Expect a collaborative, fast-paced fintech environment in a London office.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Machine Learning, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or similar.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in MLOps, Research Engineering, or ML Research.
• Strong background in mathematics and statistics.
• Proficiency in Python and libraries such as NumPy, PyTorch, Polars, Pandas, and Ray.
• Experience designing end-to-end ML pipelines: preprocessing, training, deployment, monitoring.
• Familiarity with modern software practices (Agile, version control, automated testing, CI/CD, observability).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Help to lead the development and global rollout of our research framework.
• Collaborate with Quantitative Researchers to test hypotheses and develop trading signals.
• Develop models for trading in production and ensure data-driven training workflows.
