Job summary

Flow Traders is expanding its Research Engineering leadership with an Engineering Manager role. You will focus on people and delivery, partnering with technical leads on architecture and direction.

Your team will deliver research-driven trading models and a robust research platform. You will lead engineers and researchers, shaping career paths, promotions, and performance, while coordinating with Trading and Quant teams to align with business goals and product milestones.

Qualifications

• Strong people leadership with coaching, feedback and conflict resolution skills.
• Solid project management including roadmaps, sequencing work, managing dependencies and risk.
• Technical or research background credible to engage engineers in technical discussions.
• Experience leading, growing, and managing performance of applied researchers and software engineers.
• Track record delivering applied research through a team, balancing scope, quality and timelines.
• Sound judgment in hiring and developing talent.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap: manage priorities, planning, and sequencing of work aligned with goals.
• Develop engineers: career planning, promotions, coaching, and performance management.
• Plan and build the team: hiring, headcount planning, and resource allocation.
• Cultivate a healthy team: manage culture, morale, productivity, and address conflicts early.
• Lead with rhythm: regular one-on-ones, clear feedback, and team-building.
