Job overview
An opportunity has arisen to join and lead the Hepatology Clinical Research Team, based in the Grahame Hayton Unit at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. The clinical research unit undertakes and manages clinical trials within the rapidly changing Hepatology disease areas, offering a high standard of care to patients from a variety of backgrounds. This post will mainly focus on the areas of Chronic Hepatitis B, (HBV/HDV) MASLD (Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease) & MASH (Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis) but will also include Auto Immune Hepatitis, Alcoholic Hepatitis and Portal Hypertension.
Experience & knowledge within these areas of Hepatology and clinical research is essential for this post, alongside the proven ability to manage and lead a service. A recognised post graduate qualification in the care of patients with Liver Disease is desirable.

The candidate should be highly organised, enthusiastic, patient focused and able to communicate effectively on a variety of levels. Support will be provided but the candidate will be expected to work autonomously, showing attention to detail and cope well under pressure. Whilst this is predominantly a 9-5 position, it will require flexibility in hours to fit with service development and support and may therefore, where appropriate, require some early morning or evening cover.
