Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer focused on renewable energy to lead design efforts for solar, wind, and storage projects. You will develop site layouts, wiring diagrams, and specify components, ensuring compliance with standards and client specs.

You will guide junior engineers, coordinate with project teams, and drive efficient project execution while delivering high-quality electrical designs and energy storage integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8+ years in electrical design with at least 5 years in renewable energy projects (solar, wind, storage).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP or PSS/E.
• Strong understanding of grid interconnection requirements and protection schemes.
• Experience with energy storage system design is desirable.
• Excellent technical communication and ability to manage multiple design tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of renewable energy projects, including site layouts, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Specify electrical components such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, and cabling for solar and wind installations.
• Perform electrical calculations, including load flow, short circuit analysis, and grounding studies.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., NRS, IEC).
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Review and approve designs prepared by junior engineers and external consultants.
