Job summary

Montash is seeking an experienced Release Manager to own and coordinate the release process for a large, multi-team programme delivering into live production within a 12–15 month window. The role requires coordinating 16–20 delivery teams, engaging both technical and business stakeholders, and setting up release governance from scratch.

Experience with GDS service standards andBig Bang/toggle-based release strategies in regulated public sector environments is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing end-to-end release processes across large multi-team programmes.
• Experience with GDS service standards in public sector projects.
• Proven ability to plan releases over long horizons (12–15 months) and go-live criteria.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage releases across 16 to 20 delivery teams.
• Own end-to-end release process: planning, scheduling, risk & dependencies.
• Develop release plans for a 12–15 month window from planning to production.
• Manage release activity across external interfaces, UI and integration streams.
• Engage with technical and business stakeholders to align on release outcomes.
• Produce and distribute technical release notes accurately and timely.
• Manage Big Bang and toggle-based release strategies to minimise go-live risk.
• Identify blockers and dependencies, and resolve issues affecting timelines.
