Job summary

Bet365, a leading online gambling company, is seeking a Senior Regulatory Data Developer to modernise reporting pipelines and build scalable cloud architectures for high-volume data.

In this hands-on role you will lead migration of legacy SQL Server systems to Google Cloud Platform, design BigQuery/Dataform pipelines, mentor engineers, and drive quality with AI-assisted tooling across the reporting estate. The position supports our hybrid work-from-home policy.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Google BigQuery and Dataform, including data modelling and query optimisation.
• Advanced SQL with complex queries, stored procedures and performance tuning.
• Proven track record designing, building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with GCP services like Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub and Cloud Composer.
• Background in modernising SQL Server reporting solutions.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or similar.
• Orchestration for scheduled and dependency-driven data workloads.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, testing, code review and observability.
• Track record leading technical designs, data models and delivery planning.
• Assertive in assessing existing systems and driving improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of robust reporting systems across SQL Server and Google Cloud Platform.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and validation.
• Modernise legacy SQL Server reporting solutions into scalable, cloud-native GCP architectures.
• Deliver data quality checks, reconciliation controls, monitoring and safeguards.
• Embed engineering standards including version control, automated testing, CI/CD and documentation.
• Review the regulatory data estate to reduce technical debt and duplication.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Team Leads, Technical Leads and Product stakeholders on delivery plans.
• Utilise AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering quality and efficiency.
