Job summary

bet365 is seeking a Senior Regulatory Data Developer to modernise reporting pipelines and build scalable cloud architectures. You will lead the modernisation of legacy SQL Server systems into Google Cloud Platform architectures, designing BigQuery/Dataform pipelines and mentoring engineers.

The role is hybrid, with responsibilities spanning data modelling, ETL/ELT development, data quality, and CI/CD practices to ensure reliable, compliant reporting across high-volume data estates.

Qualifications

• Experience with Google BigQuery and Dataform data modelling and query optimisation.
• Advanced SQL capabilities including complex queries, stored procedures and performance tuning.
• Proven track record designing, building and supporting ETL or ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on with GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub and Cloud Composer.
• Background in modernising or supporting SQL Server reporting solutions.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or similar coding assistants.
• Orchestration for scheduled and dependency-driven data workloads.
• Solid understanding of software engineering practices including CI/CD, testing, code reviews and observability.
• Track record of leading technical designs and delivery planning for major workstreams.
• Ability to assess existing systems and drive sustainable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory data projects and major workstreams from planning through to operational delivery.
• Design, develop and maintain robust reporting systems across SQL Server and Google Cloud Platform.
• Build resilient ETL and ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and validation.
• Modernise legacy SQL Server reporting solutions into scalable, cloud-native GCP architectures.
• Deliver data-quality checks, reconciliation controls, monitoring and operational safeguards.
• Embed engineering standards including version control, automated testing, CI/CD and documentation.
• Review the regulatory data estate to reduce technical debt and duplication.
• Mentor and support engineers through technical guidance, code reviews and feedback.
• Collaborate with Team Leads, Technical Leads and Product stakeholders to align delivery plans.
• Utilise AI-assisted development tools to increase engineering quality and efficiency.
