Job summary

RSM UK is seeking a Senior Consultant in the Regulatory Practice of Financial Services to support management with regulatory guidance for clients in the financial services sector, helping maintain compliance and manage risk. You may line manage juniors and help develop their careers.

The role involves engaging with clients, conducting horizon scanning, regulatory mapping, gap analyses, and delivering clear, actionable reports and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Experience in FCA regulatory compliance in the UK financial services sector.
• Experience in compliance, advisory, or consultancy roles.
• Exposure to core compliance activities such as regulatory requirements reviews, monitoring, horizon scanning, mapping/gap analysis.
• Interest in regulatory developments and translating findings into insights for colleagues or clients.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective management of the client engagement lifecycle.
• Prepare tender documents and proposals to win new business.
• Support brand development via market research, new proposition design, go-to-market strategies and thought leadership.
• Assist engagement manager with day-to-day delivery of client engagement activities and regulatory horizon scanning.
• Act as an ambassador for the brand and grow a network of industry contacts.
• Conduct structured document reviews and gap analyses against regulatory requirements and industry practice.
• Structure and conduct client interviews and process walkthroughs.
• Develop solutions and draft reports with detailed recommendations.
• Complete QA reviews of work and ensure outputs meet professional standards.
