Job summary

The Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our wards. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week with a salary up to £35,500 depending on experience and qualifications.

You will lead on nursing care for complex patients and work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes. Active NMC registration is required, with significant post-registration experience in acute settings and a track record of mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration.
• Significant post-registration experience in acute clinical settings.
• Experience leading, mentoring and supporting a nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care; lead assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for complex patients.
• Use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely decisions and escalate where necessary.
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses per NMC and local protocols.
• Delegate tasks and manage workload across the shift.
• Maintain safety by infection control, safeguarding, medicines management and risk reporting.
• Provide patient and family updates, supporting shared decision-making.
• Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team for smooth transitions between services.
