The Alexandra Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, is recruiting a Sister - Charge Nurse for the Outpatients department on a 37.5 hour week. Salary up to £44,500 depending on experience, training and qualifications.

The role requires flexible shifts and provides extensive professional development opportunities within a nationwide private healthcare network. Successful applicants will be registered nurses (adult) with NMC registration and substantial post‑registration acute care experience,

Qualifications

• Significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on clinical care and act as senior point of support for complex patients.
• Coordinate daily clinical activity and maintain safe staffing and patient flow.
• Allocate and supervise staff during shifts with clear responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation per NMC and organisational standards.
• Act as liaison for patients, families, consultants and the MDT.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and patient flow.

The Alexandra Hospital 37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: Up to £44,500.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Sister - Charge Nurse to join their team of staff on the hospital's Outpatients department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Provide hands‑on clinical care, acting as a senior point of support for complex or deteriorating patients.
• Coordinate daily clinical activity and ensure safe staffing levels, skill mix, and continuity of care.
• Allocate and supervise staff during shifts, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and patient needs are met.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NMC and organisational standards.
• Act as a key liaison for patients, families, consultants, and members of the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Assist with the coordination of admissions, discharges, and patient flow within the department.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
• Significant post‑registration experience in an acute or relevant specialty.
• Experience in leading and supervising a team within a clinical environment.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, communication, and coordination skills.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development.
