Job description

Job Title: Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN/RNLD)

Location: Birmingham

Type: Permanent

Shift Pattern: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Role Overview:

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct personal care and interventions to patients/service users, co-ordinating care delivered by colleagues. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive nursing assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating person-centred care for both physical and mental health needs. This role also involves supervising junior staff and students, collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment with accurate record-keeping.

Location:

Their facility is set in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, close to Birmingham City centre, offering easy access to the West Midlands motorway network and excellent local public transport links.

Services Provided:

Our client offer a diverse range of inpatient services, including acute and psychiatric intensive care for adults, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), a specialist adult eating disorder service, and a private addictions service. Their seven wards are staffed by multi-disciplinary teams who deliver personalised treatment programmes and have established an excellent reputation for the highest standards of care.

Ward Overview:

The ward is a 14-bed male acute unit, supporting individuals with a range of mental illnesses, from depression to acute mental disorders.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Qualified Registered Mental Health/Learning Disability Nurse with 6-12 months post-registration experience and active NMC Registration.

* Knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices.

* Evidence of continued professional development.

* Demonstrated commitment to change, improvement, and quality.

* Ability to develop and implement innovative approaches to practice.

* Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

* IT literacy.

Experience Required:

A minimum of 6-12 months post-registration experience in Mental Health/Learning Disability Nursing with evidence of continued professional development in the relevant field.
