We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Building Control Team as Senior Registered Building Inspector.
This is an exciting time to join East Suffolk Building Control, together the team have supported each other in becoming one of the most qualified teams in the Region.
The role
Reporting to a Building Control Team Leader, you will be committed to delivering the highest-quality Building Control Service we pride ourselves on providing.
You will be responsible for the delivery of Building Regulation requirements and related services within a geographic area but will be flexible enough to support other areas as required. You will undertake technical assessments/activities (on Band A and/or B building types) and make decisions on using skills that have been gained through qualifications and practical experience to effectively deliver the Building Control function throughout the council's jurisdiction. You will ensure that buildings comply with the relevant regulatory standards in terms of health, safety, sustainability, energy conservation, accessibility and design.
Your role will also include administration of demolition and dangerous structure legislation, including out of hours emergency cover, as well as supporting corporate projects.
What you will need
You will have a minimum of two years experience in the Building Control field and have validation to undertake technical assessments/activities (on Band A and/or B building types), plus the ability to demonstrate validation and commitment in working towards completion of Level 4/5 accredited course, and full chartership of CABE (or CIOB).
