Job summary

Leisure Focus is seeking a Senior Recreation Assistant at Braywick Leisure Centre in Thatcham. You will lead a team of recreational staff, ensuring a high standard of customer experience from arrival to departure.

The role centres on managing shifts, maintaining pool area standards, and supporting other centre facilities. The position requires a relevant qualification in leisure management or sports development, knowledge of the leisure industry, and an NPLQ or commitment to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Leisure Management or Sports Development or working towards such qualification.
• Knowledge of Leisure industry in a small/medium enterprise.
• Current NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) or willing to achieve it.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the lifeguard team and pool rotations.
• Comply with H&S procedures and standards of the centre.
• Supervise and clean the pool area.
• Set up equipment and facilities for activities.
• Deliver first-class customer service and handle queries.
• Support daily preparation of studios, gyms or sports halls and centre upkeep.

SENIOR RECREATION ASSISTANT (Senior lifeguard),

Braywick Leisure Centre

As a Senior Recreation Assistant you will be guided by the values to lead by example and inspire your team every shift to ensure the highest standards of delivery at all times.

OVERVIEW:

Come and join our Leisure Focus Senior Recreation Assistant team. This role is pivotal to the operations of our leisure centres. Managing and inspiring a large team of recreational assistants day to day, ensuring our customers have the best customer journey from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. Our Senior Recreation Assistants are forward thinking and passionate about leading their team, ensuring all the team members are developed to their full potential. Joining our team as a Senior Recreation Assistant allows our community to enjoy their leisure time, improve their physical and mental well being and is a genuinely rewarding experience.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise the lifeguard team & regular pool rotations.
• Comply with H&S procedures and standards of the centre.
• Supervising and cleaning the pool area.
• Setting up equipment.
• Deliver first-class customer service.
• Deal with customer queries.
• When not poolside you will be a key support to your team on a daily basis from preparing Studios, Gyms or Sports Halls for various activities to the general cleaning and upkeep of the centre.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have a recognised qualification in Leisure Management, Sports Development or related subject or have to knowledge and are looking to achieve such qualification
• Has knowledge and skills in the Leisure or a related industry in a small/medium sized enterprise.
• Has a current NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) or previously held one and is able and willing to achieve the qualification.

DBS:

The position of Senior Recreational Assistant is classed as a regulated post and therefore requires a DBS Disclosure which will be carried out by Leisure Focus.
