Job summary

Kaizen Resourcing partnered with a leading autonomous defence tech company in Bristol is seeking a Senior Perception & Vision Systems Engineer to own end-to-end perception technology. You will develop real-time computer vision pipelines and integrate with ROS2 and sensor systems.

The role emphasizes high-performance imaging, camera calibration, 3D coordinate transformations and collaboration across software and hardware teams to deliver robust perception in real-world and simulated environments.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in Computer Vision / Perception.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for real-time systems.
• Hands-on experience with NVIDIA Jetson and CUDA.
• Solid OpenCV experience for vision pipelines.
• Familiarity with GStreamer and high-bandwidth video processing.
• Understanding of 3D geometry, camera calibration and sensor integration.
• Experience with embedded Linux / edge computing.
• Experience with object detection, tracking and ML-based vision systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise real-time computer vision pipelines for high-resolution camera data.
• Build and optimise perception software across the full vision stack.
• Integrate perception with ROS2 and camera interfaces (MIPI, IP).
• Test and validate perception systems in real-world and simulated environments.
• Collaborate with software, electronics and autonomous systems teams.
