Job summary

Permutable is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to own the infrastructure behind our market intelligence platform. You will shape architecture decisions, work with the founder and engineering team, and build systems for real-time, event-driven processing.

You’ll manage AWS infrastructure, Python services, and AI workloads across distributed workflows, with a focus on reliability, monitoring and scalable deployments in production.

Qualifications

• Hands-on platform engineering or distributed backend experience in production systems.
• Experience designing and operating services on AWS with trade-off explanations.
• Strong Python engineering skills for production services or data processing.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging, queues and distributed workflows.
• Practical experience with containers, IaC and CI/CD; Pulumi or Terraform welcome.
• Understanding of databases and observability to diagnose production issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate reliable production platform across AWS (EKS/ECS, RDS, S3).
• Move processing towards real-time with event-driven architectures and robust retries.
• Build infrastructure for AI workflows and model routing in production.
• Improve deployment and reliability via Pulumi and GitHub Actions; enhance monitoring and tracing.
• Support demanding NLP/LLM workloads with GPU infrastructure and production readiness.
