Chadwick Nott is seeking a Real Estate Associate Solicitor (Development) in Cardiff. The role sits in the Property - Development department, is full-time and permanent, with a salary of £55,000–£75,000 depending on experience.

The successful candidate will handle a broad range of development-focused property work for private and public sector developers and funders, working both autonomously and within a team, and will build trusted client relationships across commercial and residential schemes.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in property development work.
• Strong technical competence and experience handling complex development matters.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
• Confidence managing client relationships and delivering high quality service.

Responsibilities

• Handle land acquisitions via options, conditional contracts and package deals for private developers and housing associations.
• Draft and negotiate conditional lease agreements for pre-lets.
• Manage all aspects of site assembly, including planning and adoption agreements, utility wayleaves and substation transfers.
• Assist with construction documentation where required.
• Advise borrowers on development funding requirements.
• Undertake full development due diligence when acting for funders.
• Handle onward disposals of completed units and investment sales.
