Job summary

Hitachi Rail UK Limited is seeking a Lead Technician to join the Production team at Stoke Gifford Depot, Bristol. You will be responsible for servicing, fault-finding, maintenance and repair of Hitachi Rail rolling stock to keep the fleet safe and reliable.

You will mentor colleagues, drive high safety and quality standards, and support operational performance across the fleet. Qualifications include an HNC or apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical disciplines.

Qualifications

• HNC or Served apprenticeship with mechanical, electrical disciplines/Engineering based NVQ level 3.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the condition of the work site, materials and equipment.
• Plan and undertake planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Confirm that traction and rolling stock assets comply with specs using engineering methods.
• Read and extract information from traction and rolling stock drawings and specs.
• Prepare for and undertake removal and replacement of traction and rolling stock components.
• Modify or manufacture traction components by material removal using hand tools.
• Assemble traction components using engineering methods.
• Install new traction components using engineering methods.
