Hitachi Rail UK Limited in Bristol seeks a Lead Technician for the Stoke Gifford Depot to maintain, fault-find and repair Hitachi rail rolling stock on-site. You will mentor colleagues while supporting safety, quality and reliability standards.

The role involves planned and unplanned maintenance, reading drawings, fault rectification, and ensuring asset reliability. A mechanical/electrical background with HNC or equivalent is required, plus depot isolation and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• HNC or Apprenticeship with mechanical/electrical disciplines or NVQ3 in engineering.
• Preventative maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• AC Depot isolation experience.
• Moveable plant experience.
• Driving licence.
• Working at height experience.
• Manual handling experience.
• Powered plant/tools – air/110V experience.
• Crimping competence & assessment experience.
• Sound knowledge of rules and regulations.

Responsabilités

• Maintain the condition of the work site, materials and equipment.
• Prepare for and undertake planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Read and extract information from traction and rolling stock drawings and specifications.
• Identify defects and rectify them; suggest/ carry out repairs.
• Identify repeat defects and support reliability improvements.
• Create technical scopes of work for fault rectification.
• Attend and provide technical support with failures in service when on duty.
• Keep SAP record system up to date with clear information of work carried out.
• Adhere to safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
