Job summary

Centric Talent is seeking a Contracts Manager - Rail to oversee rail contracts and related projects across the South East. You will ensure works are properly planned, resourced and delivered on programme and within budget, collaborating with site teams, clients and rail stakeholders.

The role demands a strong rail background, contract management experience and a proactive approach to safety, quality and continuous improvement, with willingness to travel across the South East.

Qualifications

• Experience as Contracts Manager or similar in rail projects.
• Understanding of rail infrastructure standards and safety regulations.
• Experience managing multiple contracts and resources.
• Strong budget, cost control and profitability awareness.
• Proactive approach to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of rail-related contracts and projects across the South East, from handover to completion.
• Plan and coordinate project programmes, labour, plant, equipment and subcontractor resources.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with rail standards, client requirements, legislation and procedures.
• Maintain safety, environmental management and quality across all activities.
• Lead and support site managers, supervisors and delivery teams.
• Monitor contract performance, budgets, costs, variations and profitability.
• Review project documentation including risk assessments and method statements.
• Undertake site visits to monitor progress and compliance.
• Build relationships with clients, principal contractors and rail stakeholders.
• Identify and manage programme risks and commercial challenges, implementing solutions.
• Coordinate activities with access, possession, planning and delivery requirements.
